Lucas, Texas – October 13, 2026 – PRESSADVANTAGE –
College Fund Landscaping is drawing attention to its long-running local giving programs as fall service work continues and the company’s annual food drive approaches. The family-owned lawn care and landscaping business, founded in 1996, ties customer support for its services to scholarships for local students and donations collected for the North Texas Food Bank.
Matt Davis started the company while attending Plano Senior High School as a way to help pay for college. After graduating, Davis kept the business and directed a portion of its activity toward helping other students cover tuition. The company states that giving back has remained part of its operating model for nearly three decades, alongside residential lawn care and landscaping work in North Texas.
“When homeowners support local companies, they help strengthen the entire community,” said Matt, Owner.
Each year the company conducts a Client Scholarship Raffle. Customers may nominate a high school senior or a student already enrolled in college. Fifteen names are drawn, and funds are sent directly to the schools where those students are enrolled to help reduce tuition balances. College Fund Landscaping also maintains a scholarship contribution to the University of North Texas Business School, where Davis studied entrepreneurship. The company has published thank-you letters from scholarship recipients, including letters associated with its 2023 University of North Texas awards.
A separate program addresses food needs. The annual College Fund Landscaping food drive began in 2018 after Davis learned about food insecurity among families and children in Collin, Dallas, and Denton counties. During November service visits, customers have left canned goods or checks for collection. The company matches cash donations dollar for dollar and contributes five dollars for every pound of canned goods, then delivers the combined donations to the North Texas Food Bank. The drive has been repeated each year since it started.
“We’ve always believed business should create opportunities beyond just revenue,” continued Matt.
Those programs sit beside the company’s regular service work. College Fund Landscaping provides fertilization, weed control, mowing, tree and shrub care, landscaping installations, and seasonal cleanups, including fall cleanups and leaf removal. The company states that it uses fixed service days, GPS-backed scheduling, and office communication so customers know when visits are planned. It identifies itself as a licensed applicator, reports more than 600 online reviews, and lists a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee backed by an Easy Resolution Warranty.
The October focus is on continuity rather than a new program. Scholarship drawings and the food drive are already established parts of the company’s public record. The food drive is timed to November visits, which places the current discussion just ahead of that collection period. Scholarship support continues on an annual cycle and is not limited to a single season.
Davis has described the original business as a practical response to college costs. The later scholarship and food-drive work extends that same idea to students and households in the service area. Customer participation is built into both efforts: nominations come from clients for the raffle, and food-drive contributions are collected during regular property visits.
College Fund Landscaping remains a family-owned lawn care and landscaping company founded in 1996. It provides residential lawn maintenance, landscaping, and tree and shrub care while continuing an annual scholarship raffle, a University of North Texas Business School scholarship, and a food drive supporting the North Texas Food Bank.
